As of March 1, 2019, rebates up to $400 are available for the purchase and installation of a qualifying refrigerated air conditioning unit.
To be eligible for a PNM rebate, the contractor installing your refrigerated air unit must be registered through the PNM cooling program. The list of registered cooling program contractors can be found here. For questions, contact the PNM cooling program specialists, at 1-866-678-5163.
Refrigerated air conditioners, sometimes referred to as “forced air”, use a refrigerant and are designed to change the air temperature and humidity. The advantages include it working well in all climates, does not add humidity to inside air, and can improve indoor air quality. The disadvantages can be that there are generally higher costs to purchase, install, and operate. If you are thinking of switching from evaporative cooling to refrigerated air, then find out how your electric bill will be affected.
Refrigerated air conditioners that meet CEE (Consortium for Energy Efficiency) standards operate more efficiently than equipment that has not earned this distinction. Determining if your large refrigerated air unit qualifies for a rebate involves more qualifications than other cooling types on this page and navigating through the CEE qualification directory can be challenging at times. Please contact our refrigerated air specialists directly at 1-866-678-5163.
See chart below. PNM offers rebates for CEE Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 refrigerated air conditioners. By choosing CEE-qualified cooling equipment and taking steps to optimize its performance, you can enhance the comfort of your home while saving energy. If you are considering a refrigerated air conditioner, check with your registered contractor to see if the system you are considering is CEE-qualified. Contractors may also visit the directory below for your systems AHRI certificate, which is required for the rebate application.
